Thanks. -- ChrisC - [email hidden]

See another doctor. When you say sudden attacks of diarrhea could you be more specific. Are your stools watery, loose or pretty well formed. What color is stool? Any blood Have you lost weight during this period of time. Eating, drinking OK?? How old are you? Any medications or drugs. Alcohol use?? Travel to other countries recently?? Any illnesses.
Before you take anything you should know what is causing the problem. The diagnosis comes first, then the treatment. If your body is trying to flush out some toxins then maybe you don't want to interfere with this process.
But if you really having bad diarrhea it is important that you drink enough fluid to keep from getting dehydrated.

Diarrhea that is that persistent is not "just the way it is." Get a second opinion. You might want to ask your GP to refer you to a gastroenterologist. Until then, consume plenty of fluids and a balanced diet including plenty of dietary fiber.

I take medication. Remeron/Zispin and Proparanol Beta-Blocker. Thats it. Nothing else has changed. Even the medication which I have been on longer than I have had this problem. It's not watery it's a light brown colour. -- ChrisC - [email hidden]

Er, describing a stool as "watery" is talking about the *consistency* of the stool, not its color. Are your stools completely liquid with large volume, are they runny, or are they formed but just frequent? Someone with frequent formed stools doesn't have diarrhea; in fact they may have a form of constipation in which they're unable to pass more than a small amount of a stool at a time.
