I've been browsing these forums for quite a while now, but just decided to register today. What I see here are a lot of brands that I've never heard about (let alone seen). Felt? What? Obea schmobea? These are just a few. In fact, they sounded made up until I actually checked the companies' web sites :p .
Anyway, I know of a brand like that too 🙄
I searched for it but it's only been discussed a few times, if at all. Ta da... "Devinci". I've seen these bikes up here (Canada) a lot of times, and even took one for a test ride this summer (road, tiagra something, forgot the name).
My question is, are these bikes good/how do their offerings in the cannondale R500/Giant OCR2/Trek 1200 range compare?
I am in the same boat as a lot of people here, and want to buy my first road bike (heck, I almost bought an OCR2 last summer but the slanted tube threw me off.... I don't really like the look of "compact geometry" bikes that much). However, I might be forced to reconsider as it comes with a 105 rear (or is it front?) derailleur this year. The R500 seems like a very good bike, but I've never actually taken one for a test ride. I also want to keep the price as low as possible (say, $1200 of our canuck dollars, TOPS, for the bike itself). This is mainly why devinci is so attractive, they are a local french-canadian company, being able to offer their products at a relatively reduced price).
So, any useful advice? :p
