I desperately need any motivation you might have! I have been "off" for about 4-5 weeks and am having the hardest time hanging on. I'm beginning to lose hope but I'm far from satisfied with the 30lbs I've lost so far. My weight is fluctuating though mostly going up and I am extremely discouraged. I am not ready to quit and I feel like I have let myself down. I am so lost! I do begin in-water training for swimming this week, but I fear that it will make me even more hungry. 🙁
Congrats to all those who have lost while I've been "gone", though. I've been having trouble keeping up in here lately.

** If you can stick to the diet plan your weight should NOT be going up. I find WW a very hard plan to follow because of hunger pains and almost constant thoughts of food.

** Have you considered other diet plans such as the low-carb ones? At least you wont be hungry all the time. And you can eat veggies, just the low-carb ones mainly. :-)

I've been there done that with the discouragement (is that a word?) of going up and down. I had several weeks where I would go down and then all of a sudden I'd go way (or should that be weigh) up. I couldn't figure out what was causing it--never did actually. Just hang in there--don't give up. Keep working out and eating on plan. I know there are times you hit plateaus and you just have to stay on track for a few weeks and then you'll start losing again!! You can do this!!!

I had a 12 week plateau and I just kept doing what I was doing and I began losing again. I talked with my leader and we figured out that the weight I was stalled at was one I had maintained for a long time on my way up. You should not be hungry. If you are you need to make some zero point soup and talk to your leader about if you are eating enough when you consider your activity. DO NOT listen to anyone who tells you to quit or switch. you lost a bunch and you will again just remember why you started this journey, write all of those reasons down and read it when you feel week. And if anyone discourages you I have lost over seventy pounds with weeks of little or no loss, good luck and post here often if you need to, Lee Kara H <[email hidden]> wrote in message "]news:[email hidden]...

You can do this Kara. Look how far you've come already. Losing 30 lbs is a great accomplishment and is something you can continue. How much do you want to lose? As for the swimming, you'll be earning activity points, so use them when you feel hungry. Just make sure you drink your water and eat enough. Good luck girl!

Ya gotta just keep going! You're doing the right things - eating right, getting exercise - and it WILL catch up for you. Keep snacking on low point things like veggies, fruit, yogurt and keep writing everything down! And remember, you're making yourself healthier by eating a well balanced, nourishing diet. This is not just a diet for you - it should be the way you eat for the rest of your life.

You really only have two choices. Go back to eating [censored] and gain the 30lbs you have already lost, or carry on following a diet you know works. You have come a long way, you've lost 30lbs. Thats a great achievement already. Carry on following the program and get some exercise in if you possibly can. Others have given you recipes for low calorie foods and that should help keep hunger at bay.
I don't have too much too add except that I am passing you good thoughts. I feel like today that I have enough motivation for myself and others so if you want some of mine go for it!!!! I just ask that if the situation is reversed I can have some of your extra motivation!!! Seriously though I have a quote "We will never get where we are going if we only travel on the sunny days" Remember it hasn't rained for 40 days and 40 nights since Noah built the ark so keep plugging at it and your days will get sunny again soon. By the way I just wanted to add that I hate cooked carrots too!! Andrea "Kara H" <[email hidden]> wrote in message "]news:[email hidden]...

Thank you all so much! I have read, re-read and read again all of your posts, information and inspiration. Right now it's TOM and that's not exactly working to my benefit but I want to lose weight too bad to quit. I happen to have a new dilemma in that I am in school during the day and there are absolutely positively *NO* meetings at times I can get to after school because of swim practice (5-8 m-f and 7-11 on sat). I have no idea what to do because I am definitely not exaggerating when I say that there are *NO* meetings at times I can make. Is my only other option to do WW on-line?
Oh well...I'm drifting. I just wanted to thank you all for your help. It really meas a lot!!! -Kara

Oh, those zero point soups are the biz! You can eat them when you feel famished and they fill you up for ages - it's all that slow to digest fibre that does it! There's a very low point Pumpkin soup recipe on my web site that might help you (hit the URL below and look in Kate's World). The other ones I really like are the butternut squash soup (my whole family likes that one) and the carrot and coriander. --

Good way to look at it Ray. I think if more people really though about what kind of [censored] they actually do put in their bodies, they'd probably eat healthier foods. I've been there and at the time never thought twice about what I was eating. I certainly do now though. Sometimes I cave and have the [censored], but not as often as I used to.

Me too. Last night we were in a huge rush, and were both really hungry. We ended up going to the chip shop. The fish and chips was lovely and the first time for months, but you don't need many meals like that to start gaining.

Oh that's for sure. On Sunday when I took my grandmother and DS for a walk along the waterfront, we walked passed the best fish and chip place on the coast and it was near lunch, but I managed to avoid taking them there and came home to eat instead. Ended up having shrimp salad with veggies and dip and a few slices of deli turkey meat. Much healthier than the fish and chips!
OK you asked for it, truth is cooked carrots are the only vegetable I cannot abide. when I get them close to my nose it smells just like the smell of a kitchen dishrag that was not rinsed and left in a crumpled nasty heap to dry, Lee, shuddering Kate Dicey <[email hidden]> wrote in message "]news:[email hidden]...

The carrots get purred, so it's similar in look and texture to the squash soup... Comes up a bit smoother, I think.

Thass ok! I'll eat your carrots! I love them! Raw, cooked, souped up, whatever! Yumm!
