Hi all,
Looking to do a walk in the Peak District sometime this weekend, but
it's been ages since I went up there and have forgotten any trails I
might have known. Can anyone recommend anything that is between 6 -
10 miles, not too strenuous, and has somewhere half decent to stop for
lunch? If it was more towards the south east corner of the District
that would be ideal as I'll be coming from Loughborough and don't
really want to drive more that 45 - 60 minutes.
I did find this route online:
http://www.walkingbritain.co.uk/walks/walks2/w195.shtml
That seemed to be quite a decent walk, but would welcome any
additional information anyone could provide!
Also, what map(s) would be the best for walking in the Peak District?
From old familiarity I'm tending to favour buying the 119 Landranger,
but if anyone really thinks the 1:25000 series are better I'd be
interested to hear why!
Thanks very much,
Jim Millen
