I have a 1/2 restored Raleigh steel frame road bike. Recently bought some
nice new Rigida wheels but they will only take a 7 cog cassette whereas the
previous was 5/6. Problem is the Huret derailleur does not have the travel
to cover all 7 cogs. Modern derailleurs seem to have a different fitting, is
there anything available that will fit ?

that doesn't have a built-in derailleur mount. St John Street Cycles sell
them if your local bike shop doesn't.~PB
