Good post Nick, you've come a long way. Are you practicing Qigong these

    or more Taoism in general?

My qigong fell by the wayside, but I was thinking of picking it up again. I
think I've gotten as far as I'm going to get with layperson's herbals and
tui na. Time to return to the basics of diet and qigong I think.

I have the thirteen movement Tai Chi down, and I do a reasonable bone
breathing, but I never asked the beginner's questions about qigong and made
a start. Time to remedy that.

I'm most of the way through correcting a musculo-skeletal-psychic problem
that has had me twisted out of shape (in every way) for the vast majority of
my life. I have some definite issues of constrained qi, and weakness in the
kidneys and liver (both much better than they were). Pulse is a little
deep, but otherwise strong, which is a vast improvement on the hidden pulse
I had a couple of months ago.

I have some difficulties getting the microcosmic orbit to flow downward from
the throat centre, advice on fixing that up would be much appreciated.

Sorry for asking but I've never seen you post here before.

I'm a regular on alt.religion.shamanism, and picked up the thread from the
    crosspost - didn't notice alt.meditation.qigong there. I should subscribe
    🙂

Yeah I am convinced that diet and qigong go hand in hand for overall
health - along with some areobic conditioning to help sweat out toxins.

Oh, I just noticed the crosspost, now I get it. :-) I'm sure you would be a
welcome addition to qigong and you could get some good advice from some of
the regulars here. Come visit some time.

  3. Depression is also largely a matter of connectedness.

Sorry to pick up this thread this late, but I'm trying to find out what's
moving in this group, and now I've finally reached late October. :-) So, my
question is, I got a bit curious about this mentioning of diet, and was
wondering if someone could give me a hint (or a link) to what this side of
    qigong is all about?

The best resource I know of is _The Tao of Healthy Eating_ by Bob Flaws.
    Very good book.

Did a bit of online searching, and this article:
http://www.health-partner.com/subservice.asp?ID=30 seems to cover the basics
    of diet theory pretty well.
