  1. Being the holiday season, the primary deity has returned the gloves
that were mysteriously missing for yesterday's 22F morning ride. They
were cleverly concealed under the cat perch which I had built over the
radiator by the window looking out on the backyard. Acting in
his/her/its usual mysterious manner, the diety restored my memory of
my having put them there to dry off, as I arrived home yesterday
    evening.

Thanks will be offered and chocolate consumed in a brief ceremony
honoring the event. A small donation will also be made to an
Alzheimer's research program by a likely future client.

Please hurry on that Alzheimers research donation. I turned 49 today ... I
    think.

I wasn't kidding about that part. What an awful disease (not that
others are so great either). However, the donation will be made
anonymously. As with all charity/worthy orgs, they have wonderful
    memories of who gave.

And just the other day I couldn't remember if I was 51 or 52. Luckily
I did remember that it was 2005 and could work from there.

?? I'm puzzling over why the Deity would have wanted to borrow the gloves!

out of curiosity what was the outside temperature when you found them?
quite a bit warmer than 22f i'd wager.

49 is not an impossible age since Alzheimer did his research on a woman
up until her death at the ripe old age of 55. When it started I don't
know, only the ending age. No disease is fun, as a friend of mine has
a daughter with MS and she is in a wheelchair at 30, and she was the
best kid in his family. I will take my demise the quick way thank you,
a heart attack at full blitz on the bike, no lingering deterioration
    and medical bills.

As we all know, the Deity works in strange and mysterious ways. It is
not for us to understand the all. Perhaps the Deity's hands were cold?

ding! your subconcious at work. i used to lose a lot of things when it hit
-20F in minneapolis but never my bus pass.

you need to pull a cortes and burn your ships. err, car. OT -- i haven't
used my car in two months and apparently the last time i did i parked it
in my spot at my apartment complex cockeyed (still within my lines, tho).
this morning i got this note on my door:

    PLEASE
    PARK STRAIGHT.
    I've tolerated your parking
    _long_enough_. & I'm SURE others
    are Bothered!!

poor exciteable [censored] (my neighbour obviously .. my car only sits adjacent
to one other car, perhaps others are bothered by aesthetics?) obviously thinks
i've been parking every day in exactly the same "offensive" manner. she'll
probably be quite pleased with herself when i "start" parking to her specs
every day from now on (i did move it).

    crazy cagers.

.. . . been meaning to talk to you about your car, too, David. My whole
    game's been off since you last parked that thing . . . . ;-)

In my conversation, I was reminded to dismount at the top of the bridge and
watch the ducks swimming in the slough below, rather than just ride up and
over and on home. I didn't get any message regarding batteries.

Maybe new batteries will enable longer distance reception and you will get
    those missed messages.
