Good question and how true is that. I think it means a professional that rides a bike. They would know the full ins and outs of; how to ride, what to ride, how long, what to eat before and after, what to wear, tricks of the game, and so forth. Yeah I mean anyone can take a bike out and ride it if you know how. If something happens do they know how to fix it? Have they bought the right bike to not have to worry about anything on the ride? Some people might stand there and not know what to do if a bike chain came off or they had some other issue. A professional has been through everything. So I think cyclist means professionally rides a bike.
