Decals -Ti Frame

I bet ammonia might do it. The stuff eats latex paint up. It is the
glue you need to attack. Peel an edge and start working the solvent
into the bondline whilst pulling the decal up. Keep the stuff off your
hands wit ha set of neoprene gloves (the heavy black kind). Save you
liver for your racing career.

If you are close to a well stocked art supply house, get a can of
BESTINE. It is usually billed as a rubber cement thinner/reducer, but
works really well with most rubber based glues. The nice part is that
it does not wreck paint or ink. A friend who is a comic book /
magazine collector/dealer turned me on to this stuff. The collectors
use it to remove stickers or paste ons without harming the paper or
printed material. A small can (1pt if memory serves) will last a long
time. One of my favorite solvents around the house. Works wonders on
old bar tape also.

I haven't tried it yet but I want to.

Try heat gun or hair dryer first, then Eucalyptus oil to get residues
off.

FNPR ain't what it used to be. Buy some acetone. Dozens
of uses around the home. Buy some xylol and toluol
while you are at it for some less volatile solvents.

I removed the decals from by ti frame with lacquer thinner. Pretty much
wiped them off. The stuff is a powerful cocktail of solvents.

Butyl acetate
Cyclohexane
Heptane
Isobutyl isobuyrate
Methanol
Methyl cyclohexane
Methyl ethyl ketone
Solvent naphtha, petroleum, light aliphatic
Toluene

I removed the decals from by ti frame with lacquer thinner.

That's the stuff!

Thanks for the suggestions - the $2.00 bottle of nail polish remover
(with acetone) only smeared the colors around and didn't take off the
decals.
