No more than a lost human family member...

Pets can be suceeded by another (and the shelter is a good place to get
a very wonderful and loving adult animal) but the memory of the lost one
still survives. They are family members!

All of my pets are rescues of one sort or another, and I have no regrets.

Speaking of money, if anyone can afford this (I can't!), this is an

The memories, etc. are not what I was referring to. Nobody replaces
memories.

We are talking about replacing the sick physical creature with a healthy one
and creating new memories. If that is the hand that the man was dealt, why
make him feel bad for something that seems to have been out of his control?
