Buy a Toppeak Alien 2 multi-tool it does virtually everything including the
15mm spanner.

Easyjet are very good with bikes, if it is bagged up it goes for free. IIRC
the pedal spanner is 11/32" but a 14/15 will do; they need to be quite thin.
You can use an Allen key if the spindle is thus fitted but try it before you
go.

Not anymore. They charge £10 per bike per flight - see their web site. The
charge applies even if you booked the flights before they started charging -
change was a month or so ago, I think.

If Stewart is going to rely on a multitool to remove the pedals, I'd suggest
loosening them off with a regular spanner at home first. You might not get
enough leverage otherwise with the sort of 'spanner' that fits in a
mulitool.

Errr... No. I have such a beast, and agree that it is brilliant. And it
does indeed have a 15mm spanner. But it's an ickle tiny 15mm spanner
and there is no way it is going to be strong enough to undo a stuck
pedal. Take a good 15mm spanner as well.

Agreed, because you should not be /able/ to get a pedal off with a
multitool or allen key if it's on properly, ie. tight.

Then there's the problem of fitting the pedals tightly at the destination.
I would take a proper spanner.
