Dawes Giro 300?

Decathlon have got a nice looking 105 equipped cyclo-x bike this year, I
thinks it's a BIT dearer than £400 (like maybe £600 oh er) but it's a
lovely bike.

What's the bike for, commuting to work? What Mountainbike reckons the Giant
Sedona is the cheapest town bike you should even consider at £170, although
the Decathlon Triban 5 at £280 just won it's latest round-up.. For a
mountain bike with suspension then you want a Merdia Kalahari 550SX at £180.

I'm looking to get a road bike to give me an alternative to my mountain
bike (Claud Butler Cape Wrath) for when I'm out with the cycling club. I
may also start doing club time trials with it too.

I'll probably also use the road bike for summer commuting, leaving the
mtb for when I want to do any off road adventures and winter commuting.

You can stick with Claude Butler and get a 2004 Milano for under £400
if you shop around. I'm a sucker for those wheels and has the Campag
gears.
I liked my 2003 Milano for just the sort of thing you described but now
I've got the Speedmachine, it just sits lonely in the garage (one for
sale I suppose)

[sigh] He specifically asked about a road bike. Worth looking at the
Claud Butler range - San Remo and Roubaix models are around your price
bracket, and are well made with reasonable components.

I am looking to flog a giro 500 if you are interested. I bought it two summers ago and haven't used it much. It's in good nick. I'm not sure of the frame size but I'm six foot two.
