I just saw this story at cyclingnews.com
If it's true, it's deeply depressing to see yet another high profile athlete and cyclist - a supposed role model and champion - fall from a great height and become no more than a cheat. How are we supposed to react when we find out that the reigning world champion has in fact been fooling us all along?
My question is, what's the point in following cycling if we are perpetually wondering whether the winner today is going to become the shamed cheater tomorrow? Why should we bother to watch, if doping is apparently so freely accepted?
