David (the one who has just decided never to die)
"Give me your tired, your sick, your old, your obese, your wretched refuse - stick 'em in a fun run - I will finish mid pack and call myself an athlete"
OK, that WAS funny.
Thanks! (it's like getting a compliment from Johnny Carson)

And talk to Charles less.
Yeah, screw Charles, what's he ever done for me??
I agree, I'm going to kick him into touch as well. He has a much nicer chum called Cecil, who would make an admirable replacement!!
Oh lah, the dawn of a new week with another glorious Monday! ;o)

I AM evil, but Dally's eviler for starting this multi-thread, never-ending, non-gun or dog, thread.
hmm...
is a dog trained to race the biathlon an athlete?
I tried that already. Nobody bit 🙁.

My dog has consistantly been training with me on the run and swim. But she does not qualify as an athlete because she doesn't have a competitive bone in her body. All she wants to do is be with me. She's a Lab. (If squirrel chasing were an athletic competition we might have a contender, though.)
For the record, the dog has been resistant to taking up cycling. So was I so I totally understand.

What about a dog that competes in a shooting contest (or a pentathlon) ? (-;
Biathlon = xc-ski for a bit carrying a rifle, shoot at targets, ski a bit more to the finish (distance depending on how many targets you missed). Possibly with a few more shooting and skiing bits in there for longer courses.
Very impressive if you've ever shot at targets that these guys can be so accurate standing up when they've been skiing hard just a few seconds earlier.
