mark-<< I just got a Colnago C40 frame and force fork and thought I would
build it with DA 9 spd. ( I already have DA 9 spd on another bike)
After looking at the price quotes, I find that I can get Chorus 10
spd for not much more. >>

<< I know Campagnolo is high quality and more servicable but does
downshifting with the little lever on the inside hard to get
used to after using Shimano for years. >>

Try a bike with Campagnolo.
mark-<< Also, don't I have to get new tools if I go with Campagnolo? >>

Different lockring tool. Remember that DA 9s is being fazed out. BBs, right
levers, etc. are going to get tough to find. shimano wants you to 'upgrade' to
10s. DA 7700 rear ders are NOW relabeled 7703 rear ders, big pulleys. We just
ordered from BTI. We ordered 7700 and 7703, received the same ders for both.
