  1. Hi,

I am an American who will probably be visiting Prague in May. Anyone have
suggestions regarding mountain biking in the area?
Web sites, experience, mountian bike rental and other resources in or around
    Prague, etc.

    Thank You,

    Marty

Umm, I think it was one of the places in PS2 Downhill Domination.

Let us know how it goes and takes lots of pictures. I hear Prague is a
beautiful city, and Czech women ain't too shabby.

Only to top-posters. Too bad you have such thin skin. I have a good
friend from the Czech Republic who rides and would have asked him for
some trail info for you. Now you can go [censored] up a rope.

Jerk? Isn't that a little harsh? Afterall, he did couch his statement
by leading off with "I am an American."

  14. Man, you must have an incredibly boring life, pouring over newsgroups and
    sending insulting emails.
Why not try leaving insulting voicemail messages? Afraid you might get
    caught?

Well done. He's obviously quite the average american as well, being
that he didn't already know it's called (vehemently, I might add) Czech
Republic by those who live there.

  17. I just spend too much time on my mountain bike to bother to read a
    newspaper.
Time to sign off from this tedious thread and get back on the slickrock here
    in Moab.
The answer to my question is: We know nothing about mountain biking in the
    Czech Republic.

Unfortunately, any online resources I can find regarding mountain biking
in Czechia are writen in czech language so they probably are not very
useful for foreigners. As I can tell from my own experience (been hiking
there), xc is very popular, and there are lots of marked xc trails in
mountains which usually don't interfere with hiking paths.

Czech republic is generally friendly to cyclists, you can take your bike
on a train, biking trails are generally well interconnected and bier is
    excellent.

As I said, online resources in english are scarce, there is a little in
    czech language (example
    http://www.jeseniky-vrbensko.cz/cykloturistika.htm) and the main source
of info are printed guides and maps which are quite good and cheap.
