Another sneaky advert...

what? Im interested if anyone has cycling.tv because i just subscribed and hoping to get others opinions.

I just signed up for Cycling.tv's coverage of this years La Vuelta for 20 Euros, thats a deal. Anyone else sign up for this? Cycling tv did a good job with the 2006 Giro and I have all the stages burned to CD.
For the Giro I captured the cycling.tv stream in real time and later burned to CD. I purchased some application called Replay A/V applian.comindex.phpOpen ↗ and successfully captured and burned every stage of the Giro. You don't have to burn it, you can capture and store on your hard drive if you want to watch it on your pc however I perfer to have it on DVD and watch on the big screen. It even has a way to "schedule" a capture session if you are away from your pc. This is the best 50 bucks I ever spent for software, works perfect. With the news from OLN that this years Tour TV ratings were down by 50% (post Lance effect) I bet we in the USA will have to watch the Tour on line next year.

...and, in reference to what this thread is really about...
i used to watch cycling.tv when it was all free but not so much anymore. i certainly won't pay for it.

I subscribe to their premium channel and I'll pay for the Vuelta. That's about the only option. Cyclism Sunday's on OLN...sorry on Versus seem to be gone for the year.
I didn't think about burning to CD. Good idea. I can burn now and watch from the trainer during bad weather.

You dont have to burn a CD if you dont want - all the stages will be in the on-demand section of the channel for a year...

I am a bit [censored] with cycling.tv and have given up on them. I am running a fairly fast broadband (well at least for Australia) and cant get it to download at any speed to make it worth while. On my 1500kb connection I am lucky if I can get 128kb download from them and even then it stutters.

have you tried having our system check your settings? my guess is that you are connecting using too slow a connection, and it can be easily changed.

go to "Settings" on the top right, then click on "retest". the system will check to see the available bandwidth you have and adjust itself to use the maxium available.

That is after I retest on all the different feeds. As well as when I try and force it to use a faster speed it tells me that it won’t cope and drops the feed.

Although i can watch a lot of races on TV in Europe i like the factthat i can see a lot of races on cycling.tv when i am on the road (Video on demand). I think it's a good thing and i don't even had a problem with it when it was an advert (it's a cycling forum..).

I don't see much wrong with promoting Cycling.TV a little to be honest. I found it by accident really and I think it's superb. I wish I had found it sooner, and a little blatant promotion would have helped me to find it sooner.

Excellent service and I certainly don't grudge my subscription.

We had a full season this year, with 110 days of racing, including live coverage of Paris-Nice, Tour of Flanders, Amstel Gold, Paris Roubaix, Tour of Romandie plus we unexpectedly got both the Giro and the Vuelta (which is why we had to charge additional for them).

We're working on giving viewers the ability to burn DVD's directly from the channel, and hope to have lots of 'cross this winter.

If you ever have questions about the channel, please let me know, and thanks for your support.

I captured the Vuelta (and Giro) live stream with Replay A/V each day and watched it each evening. I have burned over 90 hours of Vuelta/Giro action to DVD. I will always be a subscriber to Cycling.tv. I saw the OLN recap of the Vuelta recently and they did not air any real coverage of the Valerte/Vino duel on the critical mountian stage, they went right to "on the line it was........" Cycling.tv ROCKS

Considering what else I have for options, cycling.tv is a great deal. My only other option is OLN (or Versus now). They show an hour or two of cycling a week, during the season, and nothing the rest of the year. And you also have to hope that cycling is not pre-empted by the Best of Babe Winkleman's championship of BBQ-bullriding-and fishing show.

I first posted this, not knowing what I was getting into, but I'm very glad I did. I watch different races while riding on my trainer. As I'm trying to stick to a program, I find it very difficult, I pedal harder watching cycling.tv but don't realize it until the HR monitor lets me know when I go beyond my zone i try and stay in.
I found Cycling.tv on accident too, I think you would get a bigger audience if it were marketed a little more. Thanks for having this available to us.
