I'm ready (financially) to upgrade my road bike from SPD pedals to something else. The SPDs were on there since when I got the bike I had my MTB shoes and couldn't afford a pair of road shoes.
If anyone can point me at a good review site or give some good advice I'd be appreciative.
My riding is mainly training for triathlon, and my budget is up to about $350 for pedals and shoes. I'd be happy to have some left over though as I need new winter gloves (Canberra...brrrrrrrrrrr!!).

I like Shimano SPD-SL's, but cleats are very personal ... and there's no unbiased opinions here 🙂
hmmm, $350 probably won't allow you to get much better than what you have. I have 3 pairs of Ultegra SPD-SLs, and one pair of 105s, and I can't complain -- they're not perfect, but they're great value, especially compared to the fancey stuff, like Look and Time
As far as shoes go, Sidi are very good, but expensive, and Shimano seem to be the most ubiquitous in Melbourne

Pedals are really cheap at probikekit.com, compared to here anyway. eg. Look Keo Sprint and Shimano Ultegra SPD-SLs are ~$100, while they cost about ~$200 and ~$150 here, respectively.

I've been back to that shop as recently as last week and they still have plenty of stock in all sizes up to 47. That's great except I wanted to buy myself a second pair, and I wear 48s.
