Dear All,
need a new waterproof cycling jacket. All this years are without hoods. Any
suggestions for a good quality jacket - waterproof with a hood.
Thanks

NeilThe Altura one I got doesn't come with a hood but has clips where I
suspect one could be fitted. -

However, go to outdoor/walking retailer and select from them.

Generally cycling jackets don't have hoods because they can impair rear
observation - have you got something against hats? -

months, but if you want a hood attached to the coat - then both
Berghaus and Lowe Alpine have models which are designed to grip and
turn with the head (with or without helmet) to reduce the vision
problem.Regards,

Any suggestions for a good quality jacket - waterproof with a hood.I don't like hoods because they impair vision and restrict movement - if
it's warm I just get a wet head. If I'm going out on a particularly wet day
I wear my special winter helmet - I've stuck parcel tape over most of the
vents/holes. It works a treat. For a jacket, go to Altura they're excellent value and they work.

NeilI got one from Decathlon several years ago and have found it to be
excellent (even kept me bone dry at Glastonbury this year!). It's the
"Rockrider" brand and the hood folds up into the collar so it's up to
you whether you use it or not. It's got taped seams and reflective
bits. -

I'm glad someone raised this topic! I have a great lightweight waterproof
which I can sling on when it rains, but I hate it when the rain comes
through my helmet and runs down my head, particularly when it gets cold!I was thinking of getting either one of the Altura hoods, which look ideal,
or simply one of those waterproof cycling caps with a flap at the back (£4
on Ebay at the moment). Presumably both these go under a helmet?Any advice?
Thanks.
