Can anyone recommend a particular bike insurance?
I've heard the CTC can be good but are there any others?
Thank you

The one that goes with your home insurance is often the best value. CTC
insurance is generally regarded as being fairly bad value.
If you mention how many bikes and how much their worth people will have a
better idea of what to recommend.

We abandoned CTC as being far too expensive, and have cover through
our house contents policy. Check the small print, different
policies have different values covered automatically. Some will
cover higher value bikes if they're specifically named. We are
with M&S which cover bikes up to £4K each.

And your address and when you are not in, so we can ensure you get full
value for money from your insurance..

Hello,
Sorry I have been a bit busy since I posted this.
I have 2 bikes of ~£700 and ~£2000.
Thanks for the replies.
Who is M&S?
Thank you!

Hmm, I had a look. The premium they give me is such that if I went
instead to my current favoured insurer I could also insure a 2500 bike
with CTC (the highest the CTC insurance web quote generator goes to)
and still pocket some change. M&S are 80 quid more than my previous
most expensive quote!

Mileage varies: they were as good as anyone else we tried
(inclusing AA, Direct Line, Bank of Scotland/Halifax otherwise
suggested here) before the cycle side of things was considered.

Indeed. It surprises me, however, how variable these things are - I
can get 2.4 direct line policies for the price of one M&S (on the
basis of quotes I've gathered within the last two weeks).
Admittedly, the direct line includes only pitifully small bike cover,
but the rest of the policy meets my requirements, and at that price
(as noted) I can afford to specifically insure the bikes and still
pocket some savings.
