Chris Davies said:I bought a 2-man[1] from my local Millett's, a eurohike something or
other. It is tiny compared to the other tents they sell and works very
well, although I've so far only managed to use it once.
Tandeming pals did a tour of the Hebrides with one: they may not be
Hillebergs but they do work and are a damn site cheaper! When we were
in Thurso at the end of our Tour du Nord recently a chap finishing the
full E2E was camping in one, and aside from a couple of no campsite B&B
bailouts he'd used it all the way.
I probably see more Eurohike domes than any other lightweight tent
pitched at formal sites in my various travels. You do get more with the
"serious" brands, but only by pushing a /long/ way into the Law of
Diminishing Returns.
Saunders tents cost Real Money at retail, but they've often some
ex-display tents and seconds at bargain prices. Give them a bell and
ask if they have any, http://www.robertsaunders.co.uk/ to see what they
do and 020 8500 2447 to enquire about seconds and ex dems (IME they do
the 'phone better than email).
Pete.
