I noticed you said "feedback from anyone else", so I'll refrain from
offering more. <g> But I will point out that your link to the website

Since you conveniently provided the link to BentRider, I went over there and
read your somewhat disgusting article on the Bike Florida ride. For God's
sake Varney, get rid of those awful white whiskers. Anyone who wants too
ogle the girls has got to at least look like a normal human being, even if
you are an old fool. And by the way, Southern women who talk the way they do
are not in the least bit charming. They invariably sound like ignorant
hillbillies and the first thing they have to do when they come North is to
lose their god awful accent. It is nothing but Gomer Pyle [censored] at its worst.

What you need in the worst way is an editor who will ride rough shod over
you and censor you. Varney in the rough is not for civilized folks to read.
Where the hell is this Ball character anyway? He has got to be the world's
    worst editor.

Well, at least I enjoyed your photos. So thanks for that anyway.

We have gotten rid of most of the nuts and screwballs (except for a few who
linger on), but I am working at getting rid of the remainder. Why the hell
should this newsgroup be given over to treasonous and seditious liberals who
hate this country and want nothing better than to see this country brought
low - down to the abysmal level of the Europeans. Screw that! America is the
greatest and goodest nation that has ever existed on the face of the earth
and I am here to tell it like it is. These g.d. liberals can all go to hell,
or better yet, they can all go to France - which is the same thing as hell.

These "cool" types that DeVault laments are no longer here on ARBR were all
America haters and were an abomination to the human species. May their souls

Does anyone here note besides me that DeVault is a French sounding name?

  6. As I mentioned over at BROL, since Larry _owns_ a TE I thought there
might have been some comparison to it. Larry's defense was that the
TE was an older model and thus not representative of the current line.

I would submit that the TE is something of a living fossil (hey, when
its right, don't mess with it) and that its handling and performance
envelope haven't changed significantly in oh, say, 20 years. ;-) A
newer bike might have different components, (although even there, TE
is not famous for jumping on the latest trends), but I think speed and
handling impressions might be fairly compared.

The Easy Racer bikes are more or less the gold standard in this class,
and are more expensive than anything in this class, so when any new
bike enters this class, I think the question of how it compares to the
ER bikes is going to come up.

    John Riley

To clarify this a little, part of the reason I didn't compare the RDX
to a TE is that I like to restrict my comments to the bike in question,
and not open the can of worms that would result in comparisons. For
instance, there would be bikes that I might not mention, and people
would want to know about. And really, I would rather a bike be judged on
its own merits, and not on how it compares to another.
And comparisons can be awfully subjective, unless actual, objective
tests were done to each bike, at about the same time. Otherwise, a
comparison of handling, speed, braking, etc., would be an exercise in
memory, in how we suppose that other bike would be doing. Would a TE
have gone down the hill faster than the current bike just did? Would it
have handled the bumps better? Hard to say. Well, no, it's not hard to
say, but it's hard to say it with anything objective to support it, usually.
It would be really neat to get together a bunch of bikes and do a
real comparison test, like we see in some of the car magazines, with
each rider swapping bikes frequently, making notes, etc.

That is an interesting history you bring here to the newsgroup about how
liberals started this group. I have always suspected as much and you are
quite right about me wanting to get some fairness and balance here. It is
irrelevant who started the group for its present purpose, but it is
interesting nonetheless. If I had the slightest interest in taking over the
newsgroup I would be posting like mad on ALL the topics (even the rather
esoteric ones, like a present one dealing with different tire sizes), but I
have no interest in that at all. But I do have an interest in seeing that
ARBR does not become a liberal playground for bashing Bush, the Republicans
and conservatives. And I particularly do not like to see posts that put this
country down regardless of political ideology. I am a strong defender of the
present administration and of this country. Is that all right with you?

By the way, you are the only one here who is showing a lot of ego because
you have not posted correctly. You are top posting, ever the hallmark of an

This confounded idiot still top posts despite all my good advice to the
    contrary.

The only thing I am moderating are all the liberal screeds that used to
prevail here. I will challenge those screeds and call you out on them. But
if Butler had his way the group would be persona non grata to all except nut
wacko liberals. If Butler wants to say something informational and clever,
let him go ahead and say it. I am waiting with bated breath. Of course, he
is bankrupt and can't think of anything to say about anything - except to
    complain about me.

About differences of opinion - they are tolerated within bounds. You are not
free to come on this newsgroup and hate America. If you do so I will be here
to challenge, confront and excoriate you for the villain that you are. It is
OK to hate France however. And it is also OK to hate the Muslim foe since we
    are at war with them.

A Minnesota liberal is right next to a Massachusetts liberal, i.e. to say, a
genuine dumbbell! They are on their way out and the sooner this country is
rid of them and their ilk the better off we will be. I consider them

only way we will ever be rid of them.

Another set of covering comments from Ed Dolan, ARBR Closet Liberal.
You can say anything you want, but it won't make up for being a
McGovern supporter to the bitter end.

Now that is truly funny! McGovern drove me absolutely mad. It got to the
point where I only wanted to know what McGovern thought about something so I
could think the exact opposite and know I was 100% right because McGovern
was ALWAYS 100% wrong about EVERYTHING. He was the most consistent fool I
have ever known. Even Mondale could not compare to McGovern. And I was glad
that McGovern had problems with his daughter who died young of a drug
overdose. I am sure that he raised her to be that way. I mean, what the hell
do liberals know about anything, let alone raising children. Serves the old
    fool right!

He was back on the [censored] tube a few days ago pontificating about Iraq. He is
as wrong about that as he was wrong about Vietnam. Like I said, a consistent
    fool to the bitter end!

He must have heard this in a bar somewhere and it scared the bejesus
    out of him.

Did you not ever read my message of some months ago where I said the secret
to drinking is always to drink at home alone. That way you will stay out of
trouble and stay out of jail. Jeez, pay attention why don't you? You need to
hang on my every word as I am dripping with the most profound wisdom. And I
offer it to all and sundry for free too!

Ed, move to Wisconsin, get an American Socialist bumper sticker and
chill. You liberals are safe enough. This protective coloration that
you are trying to use here is no better than when you vacation in
France with a Canadian flag on your luggage.

I am beginning to have a very rotten opinion of the Canadians lately too.
They are not much better than the French. They are with us in Afghanistan,
but not with us in Iraq. They allow terrorists into their country and they
allow deserters from our military safe haven in their country. Of course, I
know all of this meets with your approval, but that is because you are
treasonous and seditious and ought to be put on trial for your life. I would
be the judge of course and it would be my pleasure to have you put up
against a wall and shot for your crimes against the nation (even though you
did serve in Vietnam - maybe a mitigating circumstance - in which case a
mere good horse whipping might suffice for you).

It all started when Ed got a crush on Jane Fonda and started stalking
her. He never forgave her for that restraining order.

And now I could go on for several long winded paragraphs on what I think of
Hanoi Jane, but Hells Bells, the whole country knows what to think of Hanoi
Jane. But the moral of the Hanoi Jane episode is that actors should stick to
what they know and keep their disgusting politics to themselves. I myself
could never be influenced by what any Hollywood actor thought about anything
because I know they are all liberal idiots (Reagan and few others excepted
    of course).

Only wretches like Hayden and Turner would ever want to hook up with Hanoi
Jane, a [censored] and a witch and a poor excuse for an American. I think her
brother Peter and the old man Henry Fonda might have been idiots too. Idiocy
apparently ran in that family, whether due to indoctrination or biology is
difficult to say. Poor Henry never recovered from his role in "The Grapes
of Wrath" and went through life thinking nothing but liberal thoughts. A
    really sad case!

    There is hope.

Did you see the Jack Nicholson movie, "As Good As It Gets"?
    http://www.kickingdesigns.com/about_designer/dvd/default.asp?dvd=38

Our own lovable guy actually suffers from the same illness. I've never seen
E.D. step on a crack and I imagine he also has a big time crush on Helen
Hunt. As far as Jack's and E.D.'s vocabularies --they are the same (only
in the movie)! If you haven't seen this movie its one of Jack's best.

I can't blame E.D. on liberals but neither can I accept him as a
conservative --just mark the box that says other. For now, I no longer
entertain his cordial calls --as Jon says "In OE, <Message> <Block Sender>".
