Cycle friendly cafes and pubs

In Castle Acre in King's Lynn, there's various Ye Olde Tea
Shoppes down the tiny main street that are cycle friendly.
All doing homemade cakes & the like.

It ain't so. The proprietor of the Cafe Artista in
Marchmont, Edinburgh, happily plies sweaty cyclists from
Edinburgh Road Club with refreshments after club runs or so
I am told. I usually bunk off on the way through Musselburgh
if I haven't already been dropped.

It depends what you mean by "cycle friendly". If you mean places that make a special effort to welcome cyclists then I don't know of any.

I find that most country cafes welcome cyclists, especially on a Sunday morning when if it weren't for cyclists there would be no trade.

Excellent cakes, especially the carrot cake. Will fill
bidons (ask nicely).

Or just look for a CTC Cyclists Welcome sticker in the
window. The Price of Wales in Shrivenham (near Swindon) is
one example - if you're on a typically slow CTC run, a pint
doesn't hurt :-)

Our off-road group keeps careful records of accidents (at
the end of the year we give prizes to the best ones). We
usually have lunch at a pub; there's not much alternative
round here anyway. The records show that we seldom have an
accident after lunch, suggesting that it's risky to ride
*without* a couple of pints inside you.
