  1. I think that means Cycling Vacation in Danish. Mine starts in three days and I will be signing off
the list in a day or two. The Voyager is packed!!!

This will be my first solo tour and though I have never been in Denmark, I will arrive to friends
that were just a few months ago just names on this NG and the touring list that I frequent. So,
though I travel solo, I will not be alone.

My trip idea began last Fall when the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston exhibited the French
Impressionism Masterpieces from Copenhagen´s Ordrupgaard Collection. Also included in that exhibit
were some of the Danish Masters. The Danish works were most impressive. There was one in
particular by L.A. Ring that was such a captivating landscape that I felt that I could just 'step
into it' Better yet, if I were there on my bike I could Bike into it. At that moment, I decided to
    do just that!

The first of L.A Ring's works was. "Motiv ved Melby, 1901" By this time next Monday, I will be
    cycling through Melby.

Another was "Lundbyes bænk ved Arresø. Frederiksværk. 1899."
    hjem.get2net.dklundbyes baenk ved arresohtm

This one also popped up on the website of Torben Scheel in a discussion of commute routes. It turns
out that he lives only a few kilometres from the lake. I think he has found for me the location of
    Lundbye's Bench.

My plan calls for a two week loop beginning and ending in Copenhagen and crossing all the major
    islands and the Jutland peninsula.

Part of my trip will be along a 1000 year old road known as "The Military Road" (Haervejen)

    haervej.dkhaervej.dk haervej.dksevaerdigheder.htm

The rest of the trip near the coasts of Sjaeland, Funen, Lolland, Falster and Moen. In 11 days I
expect to cover about 700 km (~450 mi) Thanks to Mikael Seierup for encoutaging me to tackle the
island s of Funen, Lolland, and Falster.

I envy you your trip. I'd probably have to stop by the Leitra plant, though, and I really can't
    afford one!

And the prize for the most gratuitous use of the word "Belgium" in a newsgroup message
    goes to Bryan.

If you like stairs, ladders and heights don't miss climbing up Vor Frelsers Kirke [1]. It is also
very loud inside when the bells are being rung.

    Mikael,

It is bad enough that Bryan used it, did you have to repeat it?
