Cutting Carbon Handlebars

That should work fine. Or you can use an electric grinder with a cut-off wheel.

I usually clamp my work in a mitre box or some other device to help keep the cut square.

It shows a little clamp that you can make out of wood to hold the carbon bar, which looks like a
good idea.

score it with a sharp knife. that will help splintering down.

some lightweight carbon bars have reinforcing inserts for bar end clamps and brake lever clamps.
check inside and see if your bar has these.

if so, shortening is potentially dangerous as you will shifting the brake lever clamps inwards onto
an unreinforced section of the bar.
