  1. I had been eating more in the mornings. Now I'm cutting down. Went from
six slices of bacon to four. Had 'em with two eggs and some
    strawberries.

I plan on a handful of almonds and an Atkins bar for lunch, then a
5-mile run. If my calorie allotment holds out, its steak-and-salad for
    dinner.

One drawback of journaling is that it tempts
the lazy to eat food that's packaged for
    convenient data entry.

    Why is that a drawback?

    Why is that a drawback?

The staples of successful low carbing
are not packaged for convenient data entry
while the "fringe" foods as well as outright
garbage food is. Convenient data entry
can cause an increase in counter-productive
    (yet convenient) food choices.

My steak and salad wasn't so hard to measure. The weight (and
nutritional info, as it was pre-marinaded) of the steak was all on the
side of the package, and my only major struggle with the salad was
deciding how to measure the pre-mixed lettuce. Aside from that, piece
of cake (no, I didn't have cake).

My steak has the weight on the package, too, but since I buy "family
packs" and freeze 'em, that won't help me much. :-)

I just weigh the lettuce, too.

I haven't tried weighing cake! LOL!

Ended up with about a 700-800 calorie deficit yesterday, depending on
how you calculated my BMR (which was somewhere between sitting and
    standing all day).

    Very nice! :-)

August Goals: Keep BGLs in normal range; Not hungry, don't eat

    You don't use volume measurements?

Volume is very inaccurate for non-liquids. How much letuce in a cup depends
on how it is pressed down. Whereas weight is invariable.

Sounds like less than optimal software.

    Cake is not low carb.

Probably why Bailey's Girl hasn't tried weighing cake. Why would she weigh
something she isn't going to eat?

Bailey's Girl isn't the total audience.

The software I'm using has weight (both English and metric), volume,
    and 'per-item' measurements actually.

    You're right. Some things
    are limited (quantity equal to
    n X "item"😉 unless you dig a
    little deeper.
