Looking at the packing stuff that I brought home after buying new boots and custom Superfeets last Saturday, I've just noticed that the bloke who fitted me used women's size 8.5-10 green footbeds, when I'm a size 6.5/7. Bearing in mind they cost £75, I'm a bit worried now. Does anyone out there know if this is likely to matter? I definately don't want to find that they don't work properly because he didn't use the right size, or that they even make my foot problems worse because they're the wrong size.

My box says Superfeet Synergizer Green D; 7-9 US, 6.5 - 8 UK, 39.5 - 42 Euro
I'm interested in what they did, given that they based it on a standard footbed ? I thought they build one from scratch and would tailor it to the foot with corrective pressure where necessary.

Do they fit your foot? Are they comfortable? More important than size.

Following a recurring calf muscle injury my Osteopath recently referred me to Huddersfield University School of Podiatry where they spent an hour and a half assessing my gait, footmovements, flexibility (or lack of it in my case) and taking relevant measurements. From their findings they're building me customised, shock absorbing orthotics to wear in my fell shoes and hopefully correct my foot movement when running. They claim this will lessen the strain on my calf muscle. But this is the bit that will upset you. They'll cost just £3.82. Some difference from your £75! Bearing in mind you suffer from Mortons Foot I'd have thought your GP/Chiropodist/Podiatrist/Osteopath could refer you to a University School of Podiatry for a free personal assessment of your requirements. Regardless of age or income all the treatment is free. You only pay for the orthotics. Cheers, Gordon
