  1. Well, I did it ... Wednesday night I got myself weighed and measured at Curves for the first time
since June. I figured, hey, maybe I'll have a loss in inches that I'm not seeing on the scale,
something. Well, I did see a change... I weigh more now than I did when I started Curves in January!
And all my measurements were higher than when I started and my BF% was higher. Talk about
motivation! Here I thought I was going to get good news and got basically the exact opposite. I
drowned my sorrows in Popeye's chicken, onion rings, and biscuits and honey last night thinking it
would make me feel better. Of course all it does is make things worse. And to top that off, my sweet
mom gave me a bag of candy corn Wed night because she felt guilty that she forgot to give it to me
for Halloween. She's SO sweet, I'm 27 and she still gives me something for EVERY holiday, it's
crazy. But I think I'm just going to throw the rest of the bag away, if I keep it I'll just keep
eating it and it will never end.

    I'm feeling so down lately, and I know I shouldn't. We're buying a house and that's a HUGE deal
emotionally and financially, but everything is very positive that we will be closing on November
26th. It's also getting to be the holidays and they always say you get the blues this time of year
when it's colder and darker earlier, etc. I hope this doesn't last too long... I'm depressed and
it's not even TOM for another 3 weeks. *sigh*

    Thanks for listening...

  2. Awwwww.... sweetie, you sound like you need a big hug... I wish I could jump over the ocean and give
you one! Hang in there, Kristin, buying a house is very stressful. At least you learned that eating
onion rings and biscuits didn't make you feel better. Now throw that bag of candy corn out, will ya
:-) Try to make a deal with yourself : stay OP for one full day... then make
it 2, then 3... I know you 'll make it!

  5. Hi, Kristin, Hang in there! If you are doing the program, and this is the result, you might consider
a doctor's checkup. I have a slow thyroid and stopped losing weight and started gaining. I had a
routine blood test and it shown that the thyroid was not working properly. I have started to loss
weight again. If this is not the problem, hang in there. Stress and holidays are terrible.

  7. Thanks so much for the hug, Nathalie, I really could use a few. I had a couple more handfuls
yesterday of that darn candy corn and then I threw it out! Dang sugar anyway! I'm really going to
try for staying OP today. I almost had it yesterday, went into dinner with 12 points left and
*[censored]*... we had to eat at Old Chicago and instead of buying a nice salad and one slice of garlic
bread I had to indulge in TWO beers and a calzone... LOL. Well that's okay, today is a new day!

  9. Yes, that always helps me to think that Elaine. Like Jill at Curves told me the other day before I
was measured: "Just think, if you hadn't been coming here you may not be as healthy as you are now.
You've lost 30 pounds and are strengthening your body with the excersize and gaining muscle, etc."
She didn't say it quite like that but it helped me to think of it that way, I can do stairs better
now without stopping at the top and panting for air, stuff like that.

Thanks for the reminder, Elaine. I appreciate you looking out for me. 😉

  10. Hi Catherine, well I did do that whole thyroid work up earlier this year to find I have a perfectly
healthy thyroid and my doctor wanted to help me with Meridia to lose weight! HELL NO I said, I'm not
going to take any drugs for losing weight, and especially not drugs that cost $200 a month. No
way... I may be desperate but not quite that bad.

I was a little disgusted with my doctor after that visit. Thank you for your advice and support... I
    truly appreciate it sweetie!

Since when were feelings rational? You're under stress sweetie, it's normal that you'll get a bit
down. Hang in there, it'll get better soon.

  17. Thanks so much, Erin... I'm feeling better these days, although realized my nachos last night from
Taco John's are 22 pts! MAN! That's quite a blow. I now have 17 flex points left and I'm on my 3rd
day. I can do this! (although that nacho fiasco should've reminded me that I should never order
anything unless I know what the points values are ahead of time... that's what I get for eating
while on a road trip... lol). But ohhhh they were good!
