Indifference.
The guy had decided to leave high level curling. You can inform the
USADA of this and have them take you off of the out-of-competition
list but he blew that off. Then, when they wanted an out-of-competition
test he blew that off too.Bob Schwartz

Just someone on two wheels...IIRC, there have been previous positives in Curling for beta blockers used
to steady the guy throwing the curl or whatever the hell it is that he does. -

about curling? ;-)Well, I only pay attention to the doping scandals. And then, only
the ones not involving lite beer.In spite of living in a hotbed of curling it was many years before
I knew where the rink was. When I see it on TV I keep thinking the
stone should be a nerf ball so they can play broom hockey. It seems
really unnatural to me for two people with brooms to be facing each
other on the ice with neither of them trying to whack the other. So, yes, you are the only guy here that actually knows something
about curling.Bob Schwartz

See, it's not about the broom! If anything, I'd expect something taken for recreational reasons and the test
was refused knowing that damage to his "athletic career" would be less important
than the impact of a positive on his personal life.Ron

Wonder if Lafferty's going to go picket the guys house or something.

a retirement notice. So he goes to a party on the weekend, in true
Ullrich style, and gets the test notification on Monday. What do
you do?You ignore it.

So partying is performance enhancing? Thanks
I should note that back when I partied, I doped to improve my partying. Is that
wrong? -

for 2005? What about the remaining teammates? I know at least 3 of them
went to other teams, what about the rest, any word? Thanks, Suz

Thanks, Suz
I had to resort to Babelfish, myself. Here's what I got:
-------------
The team Rona cyclist will not return in 2005
According to Louis Barbel, general manager and directing technical road
and track of the Québécois Federation of the sports cyclists, the
team Rona cyclist will not be return on the circuit of the World cup in
2005.Éric Ladouceur
"According to information's which I have, the Rona team will not return
the next season. That does not want to say that Genevieve Jeanson will
not run in 2005, but it will not do it with the Rona team ", indicated
Mr. Barbeau. According to this last, it is probable besides that Rona
is at present in the search of new sleeping partners to take the
changing.Vexations and end of agreement
"Rona had signed a four years agreement with Genevieve Jeanson after
the plays of Sydney, and the expiry now arrived. It is however possible
that the vexations of Jeanson into 2004 led people at Rona to
re-examine their implication within the team ", added the director of
the Federation.Side of Rona, one refused to cancel or confirm the news. "Nothing was
still decided", simply indicated Daniel Larouche, spokesman of the
formation. Manager of the team last year, André Aubut had not turned
over our call at the time of putting being printed. It is while seeking to know which teams would be present at the next
stage of Terrebonne of the Large Turn of Montreal that the Review noted
that the leaders of the team Rona cyclist had not proceeded yet to the
presentation of the manhunters for the next season, whereas usually
that is done during December. The first competition of the female circuit of the World cup will take
place at the end of February in Australia.-----------------
Sounds like it's still up in the air. No ride for Jeanson yet.
Aubut is "manager of the team last year?" Does that mean maybe he
won't be the manager this year?Who are the three who went to other teams? (Not that turnover is
shocking news with Rona). -

Hey! I'm not the only hopeless cynic here!
Pleased to meet you. Recreational dope was the first thing that
popped into my head when I read about it.What kind of repressive world are we living in, where an athlete
competing in a sport that you can (are supposed to) play with a
beer in one hand, is afraid of being shamed for possibly using a
recreational drug? I guess he could get fired if his employer
is a tightass, but jeez, if Rush can be forgiven for gobbling
oxycontin like M&Ms...Also, re the retirement theory, I didn't realize curling was
so hard on one's body that the guy would be used up and washed
out at the age of 22. Though, if he was just retiring because
he was sick of living the 12k curling dream, I can respect that.Ben
