Cross Canada Bike Trip

When i was there in November i purchased a book which gave me the the guideline to travel the trans Canada Trail but was only the British Columbia section. Have you done any research on the TCT? It isn't completely finished according to a little research i have done but maybe its a starting point in which you can look into.

I hadn't checked into that thanks. I guess I'll just need road maps of each province and then connect the TCT with the maps i pick up to plan a trip. Thanks

it is by now the end of july, but I hope to hell the poor fellow had someone tell him that the prevailing winds go from west to east,and that an Ottawa to Victoria trip would be ill advised...

I recall going around the Gaspe Penninsula on my first fully loaded trip, going out towards teh ocean, and it was the same thing there, prevailing winds from w to e. Saw some poor bas...ards coming the other way afew times and just remember thinking, why on earth didnt you do some research beforehand?

I'll take going up a mountain rather than a relentless headwind.

another point, as one of you asked, how much long touring he has done. I had a friend who did this trip once (W to E....) and I would never ever contemplate it. Did it in a car once, and lord, the hilly sections in Ontario that go on and on and on and on, big distances between towns....really not my kettle of tea.
