They're race tires - really not designed to be ridden on rocky nasty terrain. They've got enough
tread to handle rocky stuff, but they've got an ultra thin casing to save weight. They're really not
designed for everyday tires - they're designed for fast hardpack stuff with the ocassional rocky
section in a fast race situation, with a light, smooth rider. Super specialized, unfortunately they
don't really market them as a specialized tire - and so you get a bad rep from people using them as
a technical terrain tire.

That said, I haven't ridden them, so they could be total [censored] even in a race situation too, although
I've heard a bunch of praise for them as a really fast, light tire for racing.

Wouldn't want to race on real mtb terrain. Just smooth and fast like a paved road for me!

I tried the same thing... and blew the tire off the rim as well ... I'm assuming that I broke the
kevlar bead... but maybe they are just looser than other tires. I put the tire that blew off with
the stan's setup on a regular rim with a tube and it has been sitting in the garage at 60psi for a
week now without a problem... so maybe the kevlar bead isn't broken and the tire is just not made to
contain the forces placed on it with the stan's setup.

Nah, they're just [censored]. They don't even hold a line that well in flat smooth dirt. The sidewalls
are so weak that my rear tire in a high lateral G turn would fold over so far I could get it rub on
my swingarm.
