Cracked Marin frame - again

My 10yo alu framed Marin has been used regularly off-road and is fine.

Well, I took the bike into the shop, they took one look and said
"another cracked Marin frame!". They are going to replace it with a
2005 model frame which has diferent welds apparently.

Absolutely, although I'd rather not have to go without the bike (my
sole means of transport) for two weeks each year (typically the time
it takes for them to send the bike off to get it sorted). But full
marks to the Marin importers for helping out each time the frame gives
up.

I think they require some sort of proof of purchase. Also the frame
needs to have the original stickers still in place, identifying its
make and model. At least, that's in the fine print, however on the
latest occasion I wasn't even asked to show any documentation, the
bike shop just took on look and said they'd sort it.
