  1. Anyone have any ideas on how to cover helmet vents in preparation for Time Trailing. I know you can tape over them but watching the pros on TV it almost looks like they use some sort of stretch plastic wrap. Very clean and neat looking.

    Thank you

  3. I have heard that a swimming cap works.....I have seen this used in a local TT but not sure how u streeeeeeeeeetch it that far without it breaking. Not sure if that is the look u r after but it certainly had a smooth finish for fast airflow.

I've been told that they use shrink wrap. Take the plastic cover off the top of your helmet, shrink wrap the polystyrene and then put the plastic cover back on. Hope that helps.

  5. Rayner, i dont think this works with most of the new helmets as they r not simply taped on the way they used to be. The plastic is moulded into the foam and is unfortunately not able to be taken off.

It is a mystery to us all how they cover the vents.......maybe u can get custom "vent hole covers" for some helmets, as i have noticed people without vents (obviously filled with something) in Met stradvarius and other aggresive style helmets where a full cover probably wouldnt work.

  6. I've seen a Met Stradvarius that looks like they did not cut open/punch the vents after it's been manufactured.
