  1. I've been using CostCo "Pro-Rated" whey protein powder for the last 6 months
or so with no problems. But my latest purchase seems defective. No matter
how much I try to mix it (with milk or OJ), it refuses to mix well and
    remains quite "clumpy".

Has anyone else experienced this, or did I just get a bad batch?

Mine is similar, chocolate is bad. Last time I bought Verlina is better.

FWIW, I always get the vanilla flavored stuff.

Can't get Pro-rated anymore since we moved from California to Quebec.
But I loved the chocolate, and never had a problem with it. At $20 for 6
lbs, it was the best deal on whey protein I've ever found (until the
recent thread about the whey on e-bay).

Interesting...yeah, it is a very good price, short of buying a 50 lb bag.

Why don't they stock it in Quebec?

Couldn't get it when we visited the Costco in Vermont either.

As to why it's not in Quebec, my guess is that they haven't bothered to
translate the label into French. Without that, it can't be sold here.

I've always had great luck with Pro Rated from Costco. I always buy the
    Vanilla.

when i checked the protein powder at costco a couple of years ago
i found that, altho it was cheap, the percentage was real low.
so in the end, the cost was high.

    CostCo Pro-Rated: 22 g of protein per 30 g serving (73% protein).

Champion Nutrition Pure Whey Protein Stack - 26 g of protein per 32 g
    serving (81% protein).

Given the price differential, I think the CostCo product is the better deal
(way, whey better than GNC...pun intended).

I always use a blender, so it's not an issue for me. Blender stays on
counter, rinse with some warm water, place back on counter. Simple. And, I
usually add some fruit like a banana or dried cranberries.

If you freeze the banana or some strawberries, it thickens pretty nicely
    as well.

Good idea! I didn't think about that.
