Cordless Cycle Computer Recommendations

I am currently using a Sigma 1200 cordless, £30, seems ok and has plenty of useful functions, the do
a slightly cheaper one in the Speedmaster range as well £27, a friend has one, also seems good.

Don't laugh but Marks & Spencer (yes M&S) have one for £20 which is pretty good (and you can take it
back if you don't like it!) - our local one has it displayed on a rack with "boys' toys" near the
sock and pants.

Dunno about the latter but cold feet does it for the former..

(actually two pairs of pants are recommended - you can air one set out, unfold the creases, etc
while wearing the other)

Not Sigma. Too many batteries and they rattle (there's a motion sensor that has a ball in it). I
bought a wiring kit and converted my BC800 back to normal! Nice computer, nasty cordless mount.

I would get a wired one. They're cheaper, have fewer batteries and look neater if you install them
correctly. I think that the transmitters for cordless ones are too big and ugly.

I find a cadence function very useful.

No, not any more. We have two Specialized cordless computers which are six or seven years old and
both of them have been completely perfect, giving no trouble at all in their lives and they're both
still on their first batteries. Really, really good kit. If you can find these I would recommend
them, but Specialized don't seem to be selling them any more. I can't remember the model name, but
the head is rectangular, black, with a long silver button on the lower edge and another up the left
hand side. They came in a small round tin, rather than a cardboard box or blister pack.

This summer we've bought two more cordless computers, both Cateye, one 'Cordless 2' and one
'Cordless 7'. The Cordless 7 has been particularly problematic, missing readings very frequently and
never giving an accurate odometer reading after any run. The Cordless 2 has been a little better but
nothing to write home about.

Argos do one for £15. It's a Raleigh thing, but I've seen it elsewhere for £30. I've got one but
haven't checked to see if its accurate yet, but the speeds it is registering seem about right (i.e.
slower than what I thought I was doing!).
