No, but I got me one of these last week: 😄
Those look pretty "cool." Ha ha, I HAD to do it.
I've never used a cooling vest, but it looks like a good idea, especially when it seems like it's me versus my AC and fan during my summer morning rides on the trainer.
I'm just concerned that, during trainer rides, they'll keep what little sweat that can evaporate for cooling from doing so.

looks like Garmin-Chipotle is big time into using them for warmup before TTs... and also using cooling for recovery.

yeah i know what you mean sometimes it's just crappy outside and you want to be able to ride inside... but even with a fan it's just too hot and you just don't do it or can only stay on for a very short period of time...
grahamspringett said:Well bought, Alex, that's the same fan I use. It gets good use when I'm in the garage on January nights (when it's 25-plus degrees outside).
I don't believe I've ever used the third setting...
Well I did a 45-min 0.94 IF effort (followed by some hard lactate tolerance efforts) on Tue and had it on #2, which was ample. A few dabs on the forehead with a towel was about all I needed whereas beforehand I would sweat something silly. Must be better for keeping sweat off the equipment too.
I paid A$211 for it new. That's like 25 US cents or something :p
This ergobike training is catching on with me. The investments I made in meeting my primary criteria - a set up that I'll want to ride rather than dread - has fundamentally been met. Today it was 'orrible outside but I didn't care as I was happy to do my 90-min of endurance time on the ergo. And I can do them whenever I feel like it, rather than real early as otherwise traffic is a 'mare.
There's no way 2 years ago that would have happened.
Sorry for the hijack :o
A bit about them here: http://westwoodvelo.com/showthread.php?t=4578&highlight=cooling+vest
Several state champ TTers are using them to warm up for TTs on hot days around here. I dont know I would want to use it to train though, but to each their own.

I've got something around that size and it sounds like a small single engine plane. I use the 3rd setting for FTP tests exclusively. 😎

Welcome to my training life: look after the kids during the day, work from 2pm-10.30pm, then home and onto the trainer for up to 2 hours. Without using a power meter I would've stopped years ago, but thanks to my trusty PT, my massive fan and a collection of DVDs and my iPod, I can whir away merrily.
There's a triathlete in Wagga who rides exclusively indoors and he's just done (I believe) a sub-10hr Hawaii Ironman. He sits for up to 5hrs on his turbo.
A true Ironman!
I'd be interested to see how an ice vest would make life even more comfy, especially in summer.
