Note: Not Cooling Down, Cooling off.
Now that summer is upon us and Southern Maryland humidity is asserting itself, I find that once I sit down at my desk after a lunch ride, I start dripping sweat pretty badly despite the air conditioning. When I'm riding not so much, I assume from the constant breeze keeping me dry. And yes I'm wearing wicking clothes, not cotton.
I'd like to hasten the cool-off period so I stink less and make my office chair less nasty over time. I do have access to a shower, and of course I've heard people say to cool down you need to take a hot shower (I don't believe them though).
Anybody have advice? I would think it basically comes down to bringing core temperature down, which a cool shower would help with (but not so cold as to induce a blood pressure spike). Perhaps ice-cold drinks?
