  1. Or various mostaciolli like pasta. I love it but it never seems to
drain properly. I put it on a plate add my other stuff, and all
this water from inside the pasta suddenly comes out. Any suggestions?

Try whirling it in a salad spinner after draining.

After you drain it, pour it back into the (still hot) pot that you cooked it
in. That will dry it some more. Then add some sauce to it, then plate it or
platter it and maybe offer a little extra sauce on the side...

You need to put one or two servings at a time in a big strainer and
shake it rigorously over your sink, stir the pasta in the strainer, and
then shake some more. Then let it sit on the serving plate for a few
minutes before serving so the remaining moisture has time to evaporate.

Try whirling it in a salad spinner after draining.

Only if it isn't over cooked! A salad spinner would make a mess of soft
    pasta.

I like to leave it in the strainer and stir gently until it drains further.
A little water on the pasta is usually a good thing in any case.

How can you have a problem, mostaciolli is one of the easiest of pastas
to drain, it's just a short tube, like penne/ziti... perhaps you need
to choose a colander with holes... but then again I can tell from your
name that it takes three of yoose to change a light bulb... hehe

Toss it a few times in the colandar, then put it into the pan with
your sauce. What ever leftover water there is will go into the sauce
    and not on your plate.
