I have, on the other hand, transferred from a taxi[1] to the train[2] and then to a taxi the other

training materials and associated paraphernalia. A trolley was required.

I was bemused a few years ago with a Cambridge University (IIRC) project which was supposed to help
the transport and the environment. The idea was a car that could return to base on its own. The
concept was that Adult1 could drive to work, the car then drove itself home and Adult 2 could then
use it during the day before the car drove itself back for Adult 1 to drive home. This would allow
two car families to manage with one car, except the mileage done in a day with the single self
returning car is up to double that if you stayed with a car for each adult and traffic during rush
hour would double.

I personally don't do case mods, but then the LAN parties I do are just a gathering of friends more
than anything. Case mods are just like modified cars, there are a small ammount of people who do it
really well, then a load of [censored] who buy blue neons and blue LEDs and stick them on the front. What
amuses me is the kit they're buying is often actually the same kit sold to the NovaBoys, but the PC
companies mark it up even further!

Indeed, my system weighs a ton, not because of big heatsinks, but purely because it's got a ton of
stuff in there.

I am not carting a midi-ATX system, 17" monitor and associated bits of computer, even on the
underground! some bugger would mug me for it. and no I can't afford a laptop.

I don't generally do public transport around Merseyside anyway for this exact reason, fear of
crime.. oh, and it's unreliable and [censored] too.

Yes, then all the Londerners would have to travel to Liverpool

And that won't happen. It's north of Watford! they think we still eat people up here!

And it would be a WAN party if it was played over the internet.

Anyway, LAN party was just a more widely known example. I often find myself transporting my computer
with me when I visit places. Thankfully I've not had to take a computer to Central London, but
buggered if I was carrying that thing on the bus, tube or taxi.

Even if it was save, some bugger would rob it on my walk from Liverpool Lime St. to the car park on
the way back! (and the parking would likely cost me 30 quid, negating the savings for using public
transport.)
