computer with manual timer?

The Vetta computer as well as several others have both ride time and total time.

Get a $5 digital sport watch from a *mart.

Various Cateye models, including Vectra and Micro, are switchable between
auto and manual stop/start.

Look at your docs. Most of them have the ability to switch between
"Automatic" and "Manual" modes.

I suppose I'll get a new CatEye. Theirs is th eonly one I can find
where it actually says on the web page that there is a manual option.
It may be the case with others, but I can't find it.

I actually have an older CatEye with a HRM that I like quite a bit
except the wire is getting ragged, and the clamp doesn't fit OS bars
(I've held it closed with a tiny zip-tie), but most importantly, it is
too easy to inadvertantly stop the timer and trip-meter and/or reset
the trip meter. The buttons on the top are too easliy pressed, and
reset happens immediately witha 2-button press. If it at least required
a 2 second press that would be fine. The newer ones look like they have
a better button arrangement.

I did a organized centruy today (170km) and I solved the problem by
doing it non-stop. I was a bit thirsty at the end...

The VDO C3's, at least, have a manual timer function along with others for
a total of 5 timer functions. Don't ask what the others are as I haven't
found a use yet.

The website is also nice and teutonically thorough.

Even better is having the real time displayed continuously in addition to
all the other functions.
