Im looking to pull and save a video to use in a powerpoint. Is there a way to save a video from youtube or other video sharing site to your desktop or into a file?

If you use Firefox as a browser, there's an add-on/extension you can get for it that allows one to download videos from YouTube.

There are some screen capture apps that will capture a video running on your screen. You might find some free or some shareware apps on VersionTracker.com .

Firefox and 1-Click YouTube Video Downloader.

Another vote for using firefox and plugins. They may only save the video as a FLV file so you'll probably need to use the MovieMaker app included with windows (search help on your pc) to convert it to wmv if powerpoint gets fussy.

Actually, you have your choice to save as flv, mp4, or 3gp.
