When I started Atkins December 4, 2003 at 234 pounds, the goal weight of 150
pounds sounded like an impossible goal. We are talking about a weight I had
not seen in 20 years. The Atkins.com & Fitday journal asked for my goal
date, so I posted a modest July 20, 2005, my birthday.
Even after a year of losing, I still didn't want to get my hopes up and got
comfortable at 184. After all, I'm 50 pounds lighter! that was something to
get used to and was now just losing a pound or less a month.
January resolutions are for the birds, but diet wise, not a bad idea try
something new, so I PAID for Fitday, bought some cross country skis and
reintroduced myself to the treadmill. "lets just see what happens" Fitday
paid version gives you your projected weight loss for what your doing now
and I said" Yeah right." Even the robo challenge here- I kept my mini goal
low because of low expectations.
Something reclicked! Keeping under 2000 calories, getting some type of
cardio in every day ( even if it was only 20 minutes on the treadmill when I
didn't want to, or a walk around my neighborhood) and net carb level varies
between 20-40 a day.
I hit 177 this morning- weighed 3 times and checked the balance on the
scale....and Fitday says at this rate I'll be 160 in May????? Dang, you can
still teach an old dog new tricks. I do believe my revelation was in that TJ
Max dressing room-buy size 14 bathing suits!!!! I will be wearing them in
April, but 3 suits is an investment in not gaining any weight back.
If your in a rut, try something new.
