Compleaters for 2005

I'm down to single digits (9) with Bruach na Frithe on Skye pencilled in for
some time around midsummer 2005 - perhaps even midsummer morning.

(btw, before we get into THAT debate - that's midsummer as in 21/22June, not
some time around the middle of August!)

I am hoping to hit the end of the Corbett trail next year... but not
tempting fate... Now that the pesky Donalds are off my back (still
going to walk the Southern Uplands though - we all have our personal
specialities )

Dun da Gaothe , Mull is the target. Still got 9 others first, and now
that the stalking is drawing to a close, I will be off up North again
soon

Half way there - might manage to finish by 2025 :-)

The last one will be the one which I've not done before.

Yeah that's kind of a given.

I have a hankering for making" the favourite last one" [1] mine too,
especially since it was my first (failed obviously) attempted one. I
made a calculation a few years back that I should get to 284 by the
time I am 55.

However this poses a problem if I want to be there when Martin makes
his compleation since he wants to make it his last too and he is about
150 in front of me :-(

the summit having taken different routes to the top.

I thought about compleating on Ben More but in the end I decided on Ben
Lomond as being more significant. On neither summit did I meet anyone
else although I did share the summit of Ben More with a rather tatty
orienteering marker.

I finished on Ben Lomond.. reason was that it was so hard to get at
without a car that it was left until the last 50 odd, where it stood
out as a good one to finish on. I believe it is the second commonest
finishing hill. (that was the 1984 set)

Still got Carn Ballach and A'Choinnich though.

I expect to finish the Corbetts either March, May or July 2005.
(depends on what I decide to do next April-May)
Have been saving Beinn a' Chrulaiste at the Kings House as an easy one
with a pub at the base. Should be very sociable.
You'll all be invited when I set the date 8-)

Paul, Spooky ! Lardhar Bheinn was also my last Munro but we just
had a miniature of Glenmorangie due to the weight. Did it on a Sunday
in August and it was deserted, probably due to the fact it rained for
36 hours solid from leaving Kinloch Hourn at 9 am on the Saturday
until arriving back Sunday evening. The plan had been to finish on
the South Cluanie Ridge but circumstance forced us to do the 7 the
week before finishing which is how we ended up somewhat unplanned in
Knoydart for the finish. Must go back though as I would love to see
what the view is like !

Like all Munros the view is splendid but not as good as from Beinn Bhan,
Kishorn - in my view one of the best Scottish hill views of all.
