commuting saddle

If money is an issue and style is not, you could buy a foam comfort saddle from wal mart... However, I'd say the bontrager race lux would do fine otherwise. It is a foam saddle as well, but has more of a race bike look to it than one of those giant monstrosities.

style is an issue

i was thinking i should be looking for a mtn bike style seat would work. i just need something with more padding than my slk which is really hard

another thing to mention, ill be buying it from performance or nashbar. im a college student and need to save where i can and ive already bought a ton of stuff from the local shop here.

hmm. about 95% of cyclists care about style, but are just too afraid to admit it. and im being generous with that 95%. ill just say one thing to prove it, and please no arguing cause theres already been threads about it, but.....leg shaving. i wont even go into the cycling clothes, posting pictures of bikes on here, etc.

i dont want a big wide comfort type seat. thats all i was saying, just so people could better suggest a saddle.

I have a Selle Italia that is great for rides up to about 30 miles, then it starts to get uncomfortable. For rides longer than that, I borrow my girlfreind's saddle which is a Nashbar womens specific saddle. It has padding under my sit bones but also has a center cut out so I don't get pressure where there should not be pressure. It works for me unless I forget to reset it where she had it set. Since it was not real expensive, I think I'll get one for my own use. It is not real big and clunky, but it also is not a light weight aero saddle. Thankfully it also is not labelled as being woman specific so I don't receive any kidding about it.
