6. The bracket that holds the head lamp to the fork crown seems a little fragile. Mine broke already. I rigged the head lamp to mount from my fork leg instead. And most of us have an old reflector mount that can be adapted to mount the head lamp to the fork crown if desired.
This is certainly true, at least as far as Busch & Mueller brackets are concerned. I had one snap after 650 km and a another two which split at the mounting hole after about 200 km. Thorn make one out of something other than cheese, but the things are about twenty quid each, and I need two :-(

I also would not recommend the longer B&M brackets. I've not known the shorter ones to snap, presumably because the weight of the lamp is not boinged up and down at the end of so long an arm.
It was mildly frustrating when one of the long brackets broke immediately before riding home several miles through the dark with someone who I'd been being smug at about my lights. I managed to strap the headlight into the bar-end shifter cable housing and get it more or less aligned, but I still felt a bit sheepish. -- David Damerell <[email hidden]> flcl? The one which borke in two was one of the longer ones; the other two were shorter. I suspect they get a more than usual amount of vibration, mounted as they are on the derailleur post at the sharp end of a recumbent trike. My man Fards tells me that it should be possible to put together something involving plastic Cateye clamps, which I shall probably try when I have the time.
