Comfortable baggy shorts???

I have some Oakley shorts that are similar (if not the same)
as the Slab shorts on that page. Very comfortable and the
cargo pockets are handy. They have a liner that's basically
a pair of spandex shorts. The drawback to these and just
about any other baggy is of you are riding in hot
conditions, these will just make it hotter. But that's also
true for cooler conditions when this can be advantageous, so
keep that in mind. My biggest gripe about mine is they are
yellow, but I got a screamin' deal on them so I just pretend
I wanted to get yellow shorts. Makes the mud stripe show up
really well!

I don't have any padded Nema stuff - just regular old nylon
shorts - but they have proven to be tougher than anything
else I ride in. They do slip off my ass, because I'm not as
fat as I used to be. For the OP: I have never heard a bad
word regarding the Nema Crown Jewels (except, maybe, about
the price).

I think the Fox's I have are the first one on the list.
They're very comfortable. However, every pair of baggies
including the Fox's I've tried on have a low waist. I don't
know if it's to match current fashions but with most jerseys
or jackets I show some crack:

I don't think so. The drawstrings are plenty tight but I
can't get the top of the shorts up high enough in the first
place. My regular shorts are fine as the lycra comes up
quite high.

Thanks for the tip. I'm going to hold on to this one for the
next time I go shopping.

This is the wrong thread to mention it in but I got the
brakes on my 5 Spot going. V-brakes on the front, and the
Juicys on the rear. I don't think I'll be keeping the
arrangement any longer than it takes for Avid to send my
front brakes back.

If the top of the shorts don't come up high enough, they
aren't cut right for your body. The rise is too short.
Lycras are cut long to compensate for the bend -over factor
that a roadie would have. I am resistin the urge to go into
a rant on pattern geek theory, front/back crotch length,
natural waistline vs where most guys wear their pants (
handing off the hip bones ) and so on.

I just consider it incentive for other riders not to follow
too close behind. That way they don't run over me when I
crash. :-)
