I recall someone having an interested in studying failure modes, etc.,
and wanting donations.
I have a Ritchey Logic 110/74 square taper left and right crank that
are cracking.

Could you describe where the cracks are occurring?
Thanks,

Hi James,
Cracks are radiating out of the corners of the tapers, on the
inside. L crank has two cracks 180 degrees opposed and in line with
the crank axis. R crank has one identifiable crack eminating 90
degrees from the crank axis.

Thanks - I'll keep an eye on mine.
Perhaps the failure-collector you were thinking of is:

Do you check the tightness of the crank bolts regularly? If you give
them an extra tweak every time you do this, the crank eventually breaks
in the fashion described.
