  1. The worst thing about riding in the winter, is not the cold itself, it
[censored] hurts THAT much when you hit your fingertips on the saddle by
    mistake.

  2. I think that the worst thing about riding in the winter is the ice.
Whenever I do a one-foot or try to idle, the %¤#&/@£ ice is there and I
    fall and hurt my wrist.

Also if there is snow, so that it covers the ice and you cannot see
    it...

By the way, I have been riding in -10*C, but nothing colder here in
    Norway.

  3. -7C today, but the windchill had it down to -16C! (That's 3.2F for the
    yanks 😉)

Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total
obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and
through me. And when it has gone past, I will turn the inner eye to see
its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will
    remain.

  4. Talk about wind-chill. Those guys of the 300 club that Greg mentioned
sometimes have wind-chill of -155F. Coming in to the sauna at up to 240F
gives almost a 400 degree difference. Google found tons of info. Here's
    a guy at '-100F' (http://tinyurl.com/4mu7z)

I suppose you'd have to pump up your tire more than usual?

  5. The coldest I've ridden in is about 45F, I would have ridden in -5, but
my seat rusted through over a month ago. I just havn't yet decided what
to get as a new uni to replace my old 20 inch Schwinn.

  6. This morning I rode to work @ -37 C (-34 F). Even though it was only a
2 minute ride, it was still cold...even for a Canuck 😎 At least
there was no wind; just a "shallow fog" of cold everywhere. It was
    quite picturesque, actually!

  9. -22 Canadian. I can't remember which is which, celsius maybe? It didn't
seem too cold. I was wearing a sweater, 2 t-shirts, jeans, shin pads,
soccer socks, sneakers and sobeys bags. On one messed up unispin
tireplant, I fell and my Saint Christopher medal swung up and
stuck/froze to my lip. Kinda like when you lick a cold metal pole or
popsicle and it sticks. Like on Dumb and Dumber. But it was one of those
sweet rides wear you seem to make loads of progress.
