Coker Radius, tire width and brake question

i believe the wheel radius is approx 18 1/4 inches, of course it varies
depending on tyre wear and which batch of tyrs you've got.

The tire may say 2.3" but it does not mean much to me. I have seen 2.3
tires that had different physical size 🙂

What I want is the center of the axle to TOP of the tire measurement.
And the actual tyre width in its widest.
In mm 🙂
I want the frame fit the actual tire, not some virtual one.

The best way is to build your wheel first, then take measurements
yourself as directed by the frame maker. Even better, give the frame
maker the wheel to measure himself. Good luck!

I haven't actually received the wheel set yet. I snagged the last
KH/Schumpf UDC had in stock, but they are out of 14 gauge spokes, so
the wheel build will take a while...
Again, the goal is the KH Guni, (ISIS geared hub) with the new Nimbus
rim and tire. (and then to somehow salvage my marriage when she finds
out how much I am spending):eek:
Anyone have the new Nimbus tire/rim that they could measure the actual
width?

I would love to run a brake on my new 29" guni, but I just have to
figure out how to mount the handle comfortably with my set up. I can't
use a bar end b/c of the 27.2mm post and I cant put it on the rail
adapter b/c it is not in reach and I cant use a brake extension because
of the GB4 bars getting in the way haha.

I would recommend at least getting the magura mounts on the frame and
you can decide later if you want to run brakes. The wheel is going to
be heavier than your old 36er so when you are going down hills/mountain
roads a brake will really help out your knees!

Sounds like you will have a sweet geared 36! I was thinking of going
that exact same route actually, but the geared 29er will be fiting my
travel needs a lot better. Sometime next year I may swap it out and
put it in a 36er.

Make sure you use the correct measurements for the bearing holders.
Might be a good idea to email Florian or Kris, but they should be 42mm
and have a 2mm lip on the inside edge of the bearing housing.
