In the end I just bought a new mini-pump. The old was breaking up, and I wasn't relying on it anymore. However, is it possible to source some frame mounts for a truflo HPX pump? When I get my next mountain bike I'd like to carry that one. [1]
Zefal "doofas" are I think the term. Plastic things which wrap around a tube, and leave you a pump peg. Probably only need one, and trap the other end into an appropriate corner of the bike frame. Problem is they are no longer on the Zefal website :-(
Can sometimes be done with just a cable tie to create a pip at the appropriate place on a frame.

LBS should have some old plastic or metal clip-on peg that will work.

Someone stopped for me today and kindly pumped up my tyre with a CO2 pump. It was easy ... fantastic, in fact. So, I'm looking at buying one.

Hey, why not get a bike with an engine too so you don't have to bother with all that tiresome pedalling?
Where does that one come from .. oh right, insinuating that a CO2 pump makes me really, really lazy.? Not open-minded and willing to try something new, especially as someone rescued me in seconds after my reliable pump broke.
Personally, I can't see what this has added to the thread. Have you any personal experience that buying a CO2 pump makes people go out and buy a motorcycle?

I saw these in a shop whose name I don't want to mention (or admit going into). I think they were the chains own brand.
